In this project, I served as the Technical Consultant overseeing the evaluation, selection, and deployment of Learning Management Systems (LMS) for Health Training Institutions (HTIs) across Ghana. I collaborated with multiple stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, MCSP/Jhpiego, and institutional leadership, to assess institutional eReadiness, align technical strategies with educational goals, and support the national eLearning policy development. I evaluated LMS options, recommended Moodle based on sustainability and offline accessibility, and created a custom plugin to enhance Moodle’s functionality to fit local learning needs.
In addition to system development, I trained health training institution staff and tutors in content creation for the LMS. I conducted practical sessions on digital content development, course design, and user management to empower subject matter experts (SMEs) and instructional designers to produce interactive and locally relevant eLearning modules. I also handled technical troubleshooting, server configuration, LMS installation on local HTI servers, and developed a sample network topology for reliable campus connectivity, ensuring sustainable infrastructure for future growth.
I also formatted, illustrated, and compiled the overall eLearning Implementation Guide document, synthesizing inputs from national-level stakeholders, technical teams, and academic staff. I structured the guide to clearly outline governance, content development processes, infrastructure deployment, integration strategies, and monitoring frameworks, making it practical and actionable. My role was pivotal in ensuring that both the technical and pedagogical aspects of the eLearning deployment were cohesive, scalable, and aligned with Ghana’s national digital health and education goals.
